Ans.
Dear Mr. Swain. You must be very focused when you are choosing you career You are doing BEd and at the same time giving coaching to C.B.S.E. students. Do not move, plan and go aimlessly. Some of the institutes like Iris and other premier institutes are providing integrated course both in M.Sc and Ph.D. Provided the candidate is qualifying the JAM test basically conducted by Iris. NISER is also providing dual degree.
The recommendation for such type dual programme is that the admission should be through JAM (similar to the M.Sc. programmes) and Departments can provide additional criteria for the qualifications (as per normal JAM procedure) . Credit requirement for the M.Sc. degree and Credit requirement towards Ph.D. The credit requirement for the M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme should include 140-160creditsfor the M.Sc. program me . An additional credit requirement of 24-36 credits is recommended for the Dual degree programme .The total credits for the Dual degree program me will range between 164-196 credits. The distribution of credits in each semester would be as per the Mukhopadhyay Committee Guidelines (35-40 credits as per semester). However, a minimum of 12 credits out of the additional 24- 36 credits should be for supervised learning. Semester wise Credit structure—Theory (Core &Elective); Laboratory content: Supervised Learning Components (short term project activities seminars etc.) Regarding preparing for IAS and other civil services please visit UPSC site for better information and choice of subject papers. Delhi will be best centre for civil services coaching.
